Ice skating in Maine is a must-do for anyone looking for a true New England vacation experience. And while there are many lakes and ponds that look inviting, it’s important to check with local authorities to make sure the ice is safe before heading out.
Luckily, there’s an NHL sized outdoor public skating rink at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. If conditions allow, it’s open from mid-December through late March, and skates are available for rent.
