Visitor's Center

Our Visitor's Center is located at 1216 Carrabassett Road (across from Ayotte’s Country Store off RT 27). Call us (207) 235-6008 or email us at info@mainesnorthwesternmountains.com for additional information.

Stop by our Visitor's Center - the staff are extremely helpful and most are longtime locals. Our knowledgeable staff can give you directions to and information about many outdoor activities, places to eat and catch live music, places to stay that fit your budget, or even help you map your hiking or biking routes for the weekend. You may even be quizzed during your next visit.

With so much do to at Sugarloaf proper, it may be hard to imagine venturing beyond the mountain but we highly encourage you to explore the Village of Stratton/Eustis, just a few miles north of Sugarloaf. Stratton is not only home to breathtaking Flagstaff Lake and The Valley Below, but it is also a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon on a paddleboard or in a kayak exploring Maine’s fourth-largest lake. Want to know more about the history of Flagstaff Lake, book a Scenic Boat Tour with a Registered Maine Guide.

Looking for places to eat, explore, and stay - look no further! Stop by Fotter’s Market to order a fresh Thanksgiving Sandwich and some ice cream from the Flagstaff General Store. Want to rent a snowmobile for a day of excitement exploring the 100’s of miles of trails in the Maine's Northwestern Mountains Region of Maine, stop in at Flagstaff Rentals. After an exciting day of activities, head to The Coplin Dinner House for a special dinner.

Venture south to the Town of Kingfield for great fishing, check out the historic Stanley Museum, visit the High Peaks Artisan Guild to view the works of many local artists, stop next door at Longfellow's Restaurant for lunch or dinner. Joni will tell you they have the Best Lobster Roll you can find while exploring  Maine's Northwestern Mountains Region. If you’re looking for breakfast, stop at The Kingfield Woodsman for a mountain breakfast or the Orange Cat Café, which is delicious with their homemade pastries. Looking for a place to have that special romantic dinner in Kingfield, visit One Stanley Avenue Restaurant. The town has many varied lodging establishments from the historic Herbert Grand Hotel, Three Stanley Avenue to the Mountain Village Farm B&B.

Still, have questions? Ask a local, “Friends are always welcome!”
