CVOA started out in 1999 with a dozen outdoor enthusiasts trying to keep our lands pristine. Today, we have more than 1,000 members from all over Maine, New England, New York, and even Canada... young and old, men and women. We have held to our mission:
To foster and promote the conservation of our natural resources and the creation of recreational opportunities in our region.
But we also like to have fun.
We are a vibrant club with diverse interests springing from a single core: our love of the outdoors. Year-round, our members are out skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, fishing, and hunting in every corner of Maine, yet we have no paid staff, no offices, no real overhead. For 12 years our dues have remained at the rock bottom price of $10 a year.
